Life after Death
This topic may be a complicated one to discuss but its very important that each and every human being born in this world shud know about this....
I am not going to talk anything philosophical or religious about this topic but only on humanity basis and love of one human to another human...
being a medical student, its my duty to educate and bring awareness about certain things to the people around me...
Finally let me start the topic...according to me the line "Life after Death" implies to "Human Organ Donation"
Well you all must be familiar with this issue but the indepth meaning s not understood by most of us...so i thought i just share my views about this with u all....
"Dont take your organs to heaven, for heaven knows they are needed here"
In medicine, there are 2 types of donation..one s the whole body donation and the other s the organ donation...Personally i dont have any interest in whole body donation so i dont want to discuss in detail about it...but basically whole body donation means its donating a human body after his death to the medical college where future doctors learn from the dead people who shud b respected as GOD .....
But organ donation is a noble thing which a human can do to lighten up the lives of many people around him....
Man s the unique creation of God.. So we need to be worth enough to live upto his expectation.
Organ donation means donation of human organs after the death of the person and can be used to help people who are in need of it due to many medical conditions...
Organ donation is the synonym for the word "Love for others"
Organ donation not only means donating heart, kidney, lung, liver or blood...but basically each and every bit of the human body can b donated after the death....
Organs are taken from the people who are dead or from the patients who have been labelled as Brain Dead person....to elaborate on brain dead, man's life can be brought back from death even if the heart stops for few mins but once if the brain s dead, nothing can be done to bring back the life...so its the end of that person's life..so organs can be donated from those people according to Law...
There are people in this world who are less privileged than most of us due to their physical disability and medical conditions...Their lives are very miserable to an extent which we cant imagine...
for instance
a blind person cannot appreciate the beautiful work of the God...not even the person who has brought him to this world....
then talking about the person suffering from Leukemia (blood cancer)...this is the worst curse that a person can get...they undergo such a painful life which is jus killing them every second of their life...they had to take blood transfusion almost every week.....
Then comes the renal failure patients who had to undergo dialysis treatment...most of us will hesitate to tell others that v r going to micturition but these patients have to carry their bag of urine wit them thru'out...how pathetic.....
Like this i can give u thousands of examples of people who are in need of help from the fellow citizens...
The people have to think few things...after our death nothing is gonna remain in this world in rememberance of us except our love to our fellow people...but if we donate our organs after our death, each and every part of our body is gonna be in this world...
"The only thing you take with you when you're gone is what you leave behind"
One thing i shud definitely talk at this point of time is...DONT SELL YOUR ORGANS.....its the worst thing that a human being could do....Few doctors who shudnt be called even as humans are selling the most precious organs of human jus for the sake of money....that is very very bad....
The organs which can be donated are, starting from skin, blood, tissue, muscle, bones, brain, lung, liver, eyes, kidneys, heart and so on....
Now let me give few facts about different organ donation....
Let me start with blood which can be donated even when we are alive...donating blood is not only good for the recipient but also for the donor... after one donates his blood there is regeneration of new blood cells which could function more actively...and for the recipient, there are many things to be discussed but few important things are.. to save a person's life who has lost massive amount of blood in an accident, for the patient who needs blood transfusion every week and goes on....
Next is about the organ which is transplanted in higher rates is the Kidneys....donating this organ s also very important as this can be donated even when the person is alive as we have a pair of kidney so if we donate one kidney also, the other kidney will do the job perfectly...
Next is about the most beautiful organ in our body which is the main reason for attractions between the opposite sex...u must hav guessed it right..its none other than the most romantic EYES... u cant imagine a life without eyes...we need this amazing organ to look at this world, the person who has brought us to tis world, the beautiful nature with sunrise, sunset, mountains, falls, birds, animals, fellow human beings, trees, kids smiles and soo many works of God...so by donating our eyes v make the visually impaired people to enjoy these things which v have enjoyed thru'out out life.... one thing i want to make it clear is that, many people think that eye donation means removal of whole of the eye but its not true...only the cornea (transparent layer over the black round in the eye) is removed and tranplanted...so after the removal there wont be any change noted in the eye... by donating our eyes, we can give vision to 2 different people....
The most important organ of the human body is the Heart, which can also be donated....the greatest character of heart is that, it might show difference to people emotionally but its work is the same in whichever individual it is placed...thats amazing na.....it should be transplanted within 6hrs from the time of death of the donor..
One of the amazing work of the almighty is the creation of Liver... the unique feature about tis organ is the capacity of its regeneration and ability to grow to its original size even with a small part of the organ donated from the donor..
I think if i'm gonna tel u indetail abt all the organs to be donated, its gonna take pages and pages, so let me stop the facts wit this..
There are many medical, legal, emotional and various others issues are involved in organ donation...The person should donate the organs only on his/her own interest...no one should be forced to donate... the family of the donor also plays an very improtant role... they should also be educated about the importance of organ donation...
I wish to live after my death...
At a certain moment a doctor will determine that my brain has ceased to function and that, for all intents and purposes, my life has stopped
When that happens dont call this my "Death Bed", call it my "Bed of Life" and let my body be used by others to lead fuller lives...
Give my skin to a handsome guy and a pretty girl who have lost their skin and their beauty in burns..i wish to make their life colorful....
Give one of my eyes to a cute kid who hasn't seen his/her mother who has fed him/her milk which is nothing but a part of her blood and who knows in future he/she might become Abdul Kalam or Bill Gates or Kiran Bedi or Sania Mirza and another eye to the young men who wishes to see the world, the sunrise, baby's face and the love in the eyes of the girl who has been loving him eventhough his life was in dark and wish to lighten his life... Thru' these people i wish to see my loved ones till the end of their life...
Give my blood to a young familyman who's life is in danger and wishes to live for more time to safeguard his wife and kids who are waiting outside the ICU with all their future dreams dying inside the room..
Give my one kidney to a young mother who depends on the machine for her day to day life and who is the most important person in the life of her 5yr old kid who's waiting for her mom to feed her, show her affection, correct her when she's wrong and be with her thru'out her life and another kidney to a grandfather who wants to tell moral stories for his grand children and play with them peacefully in his retired life...
Give each and every cell of my brain to a kids, so that someday a deaf girl will hear the sound of the rain from her window and a speechless boy to shout aloud when he hits century in his cricket play...
Take all my tissues, muscles, bones and give it to a crippled child who wants to enjoy each and every step of their life....
Last but not the least I wish to donate my HEART... because i have a handfull of people in my heart who i love sooo much, without them my life would hav been miserable, they hav been supporting thru'out my life and so i dont want them to get buried or burnt into ashes after my death...i want to love them till the world ends spinning....so if i donate my heart, atleast in someone else's body my heart will still be beating with my love for the people who i owe soo much in my life...
Burn the left over of me and throw all over for the plants for their nutrients....
If you wants to bury something of mine, then bury all my mistakes, my weakness, bad words spoken by me, scars that i've made in ur hearts unknowingly
If you do this all for me.... " I will Live forever"
"Death is not the end of our life, but just the Beginning of another new life"
So donate ur organs after ur death and live a happy life in the smile of the other people....
