A hot cup of coffee

Being a coffee addict how can I miss writing about it. I hope many people all over the world are very much addicted to coffee but taste differs. There are two types of coffee, instant and filter. I hate to drink instant coffe. I love "hot strong south indian filter coffee with extra sugar" :)
I admit the fact that i became a fan of filter coffee because of my great grandma. She is such an experienced lady who has inspired me to get into kitchen. The way she explaining the method of preparing a hot filter coffee, u would actually fall in love with that coffee and will get a satisfaction of having such a tasty coffee. Infact tasting of all brands of coffee especially filter coffee is my major hobby. Whichever restaurant i go, either its a top class 7 star restaurant or a platform coffee shop, how muchever my tummy is full, I just can't resist myself from tasting atleast a sip of the aromatic filter coffee.
Then one fine cold day, I decided to hav a coffee, purely prepared by me without my mom's help. So i quickly got ready with my full sleeve red tshirt n blue jeans as it was cold outside, took my bag n rushed to my car( as if, this world is going to end in another one hour :) ). Then drove my car straight to a famous coffee brewing shop near my home which I always loved to have. With all excitement, i entered the shop and asked the shop keeper for a nice special filter coffee powder. That was the first time i went into that shop. He brewed 70% of beads of fresh coffee beans with 30% chicory. Now I got my coffee powder and rushed back home.
With all preparations mentally and physically, I entered my kitchen. I was quite nervous, and started my work. I opened the refrigerator to take out the milk packet. With the cute little scissors which my mom has kept exclusively for cutting milk packets, I cut opened the packet at one edge and poured the pure white milk into the pan and added very little water, so that i could have a thick coffee :P . As the milk was boiling, I started my preparation to make the filter coffee drips.
I like it when coffee is brewed with a metal device that resembles two cylindrical cups, one of which has a pierced bottom that nests into the top of the "tumbler" cup, leaving ample room underneath to receive the brewed coffee. The upper cup is loaded with fresh ground coffee mixed with chicory (~2 tablespoons of mixture per serving). The grounds are gently compressed with the stemmed disc into a uniform layer across the cup's pierced bottom. With the press disc left in place, the upper cup is nested into the top of the tumbler and boiling water is poured inside. The lid is placed on top, and the device is left to slowly drip the brewed coffee into the bottom. The chicory sort of holds on to the hot water a little longer, letting the water extract more flavour from the coffee powder. The coffee drips is usually known as "teekotion". When each drop of coffee drips, the aroma will be pulling us towards the cup to drink it without even mixing with milk or sugar.
Then one more condition for my coffee time is to have the coffee in Traditional Madras-style Dabarah (or) Davarah and tumbler placed with the open end facing down as customary. i took it out from the shelf in this model and slowly turned the tumbler. Carefully i opened the upper cylindrical cup and poured the coffee drips into the tumbler and added white crystals of sweetest sugar( in extra amout). Typically I started pouring back and forth between the dabarah and the tumbler in huge arc-like motions of the hand. For a moment I went through all coffee famous places like Coorg, Yercaud, Niligiris etc. Oops my god while I was indulged in that aroma, i complelely forgot about the boiling milk and quickly turned off the gas stove. After i completely mixed, i could see the bubbles on that dark solution. To that aromatic solution, i added the hot white bubbling milk carefully without pouring on my dress which i often does :).
Now almost my dream became true but I wanted to have it in a peacefull place. So i quickly took the dubarah and tumbler with the coffee to my balcony before it gets cold. I sat on my favourite swing. It was around 6 in the evening and the clouds was neither bright nor dark with green plants aroung me and soft wind on my face taking me to my sweet memories. In that pleasant surrounding, I mixed my hot coffee back and forth between dararah and tumbler and i could sense the aromatic coffee with free drizzles on my face with the grrrrrr sound.Awesome, now comes the climax, i took the tumbler edge in my finger tips (as it was hot)and went towards my lips and took a sip. Hmm Hmmm Hmmmm mind blowing feeling. As the coffee drips on my tongue i felt the taste of a WARM TYPICAL SOUTH INDIAN FILTER COFFEE, and when it flowed into my food pipe, i felt like it was a WARM HUG to my body in that cold weather. It was an "eternal treat". Every human should feel the taste of the coffee atleast once in his lifetime.

Whatever it is, i will admit one more fact that nothing can equalise MY MOM's coffee. wowww I get an ultimate godly feel when I sip my mom's preparation. Ofcourse every person's first favourite cook will be their mother, i m not an exception from this.

Blog about my charming Prince

I don't know the reason why I chose to write a blog after three years. May be its because of the happiness given by my prince has driven me to write this blog. Kindly forgive me if there are any mistakes.
Well, this topic might scratch many people minds as when did I find my prince, who is it, where did it happen and lot more doubts.
Let me give you few facts about him. To start with, he is such a nice person. People will fall in love with him at the first sight. He is born with a boon of making people happy around him by hiding all his feelings without telling it to anyone. He is very smart, handsome and chubby boy. Every part of his face is soo messimerising. When I hold his hands, I forget the whole world around me. He gives me happiness in all situations. I don't even have to see him in person, but just on seeing his photo itself gives me change of mind and happiness. He has such a beautiful smile.
I think this is high time to reveal the name of my prince. He is none other than my nephew cute little Vinay.I call him Chintu:). I took him for the very first time in my hands on 21st November 2011 morning 10'o clock. He is such a charming boy I have ever met. Whenever I carry him , play with him or just a memory of him makes me extremely happy. He behaves the most notiest when he is in my hands and when I am around him. He is a very smart intelligent boy. He loves when people around him speak to him. He tries to make us understand his cute language and respond him back and at the same time he is a very decent boy to respond us back with his cute sounds. He likes only cold temperature and gets really irritated with hot temperatures and I analysed his character to be a very cool guy.
One of the most happiest moment of my life was the following incident with him. On his 10th day of birth, after all his routines, I tried to put him to sleep. In his half sleepy mood, I lied down on the corner of the bed and was tapping him mildly next to me. It was a very tiring day and I slept off without confirming my little boy's sleep. After sometime of my deep sleep, I got up suddenly. But for a surprise, I felt a warm cute little hands hugging around my neck and a very charming cute little face was near my face. I couldnt believe that tears were flowing on my cheeks and that minute I realised that even extreme happiness also makes us cry. I am not even sure that I wil go thru the same type of situation and happiness again in my life..
